The Digital Business Development Manager should bring an energetic, engaging, pro-active approach to generating new business for the digital team here at Switch. Someone who is able to confidently assert themselves in a well-established team, who is flexible and responsive, and has an appreciation for the creative and strategic work the designers and strategists do will be the ideal candidate for this role.

 

We are looking for an individual who believes in innovation, collaboration, and good old-fashioned hard work, not to mention having a lot of fun along the way. Successful candidates are able to work well independently and as part of a team as is required.

 

The Digital Business Development Manager presents digital marketing recommendations, ensures growth within the business and retains clients for future campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the various digital mediums in which we work, and will have connections and relationships that can be leveraged in acquiring new accounts for the company. A strong relationship-builder who can confidently give presentations, lead new business initiatives at conferences and write content for our inbound/outbound content marketing strategy is the ideal person for this position. This role requires experience in digital and emerging technologies, along with brand design, marketing and communications as well.

Qualifications

  • Passion for all things digital
  • BA/BS/BJ in Communications, Business, Journalism or Marketing preferred
  • The desire to win and a proven track record of doing so
  • Strong relationship building interpersonal skills
  • Organized, efficient and self-motivated
  • Excellent writing and presenting skills
  • Strong reasoning and research capabilities
  • Strong problem-solver
  • A strong network and reputation is highly preferred
  • Preferred experience with CRM tool to mine prospects
  • Experience developing new business accounts for Digital
  • Experience with Marketing/Communication agencies
  • Must have the ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Gain an extensive knowledge of our capabilities, specifically with virtual reality, website development, mobile marketing, digital marketing campaigns, PPC, SEO, programmatic display, email marketing, and more.
  • Posses a hunter’s mentality, seeking opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to us.
  • Be accountable - walk the talk, lead by example, create goals and stick to them.
  • Be the agency’s biggest cheerleader – both internally and externally.
  • Stay informed of digital marketing best practices.
  • Love to learn – nothing will stop this person’s inquisitive nature.
  • Be an author and storyteller – the business development manager will bring Switch to life for prospects daily via the Switch story with new business presentations and case studies.
  • Create proposals (with the help of our digital team) and present solutions to prospects and clients.
  • Define and set goals for new business development for the digital team.
  • Attend conferences and other industry events to build relationships, give presentations, speaking engagements.
  • Evaluate market research and adjust new business strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership in client pitches as part of a consultative selling approach.
